Video marketing is a great way to reach your audience, but YouTube has more than 1 billion active users. That’s why you need to be posting videos on YouTube regularly! How many times should you post to YouTube a month?
YouTube provides an opportunity for businesses to connect with their customers and grow their businesses. It also gives brands the chance to turn passive viewers into loyal followers who will go out of their way to watch new content, or buy products from the brand they love
1. You Can Create a More Personal Connection With Your Audience
YouTube makes it easy to put a face and personality to your business. Viewers like knowing the people behind the brands they support, so video marketing allows you to build relationships with loyal followers by letting them get to know you as a business.
YouTube is also a great way to build trust and credibility, which makes it easier for people to buy from you.
People like seeing real faces when watching videos. So, if possible, get in front of the camera or hire talent. This isn’t required but people like people, generally.
2. YouTube Works with Google’s Search
Just as with website SEO and blogs, an active YouTube channel is more likely to be indexed by Google than an inactive one. Posting regularly helps you get into the Google search system, not just YouTube.
By the way, YouTube is the second largest search engine, after Google. They have their own algorithm for video discovery and ranking which gives your videos a better chance of being seen by viewers who are looking to buy what you have to offer. So, it’s up to you how many times should you post to YouTube a month, but frequency is better than irregularity.
YouTube also provides additional ways to get found through their “up next” feature. This allows people searching YouTube to see recommended content that fits their interest and past viewing habits.
New tools like Chapters and Subtitles are also indexed by Google, so that your videos may even show up in Google Search when someone types a question.
3. The More Videos You Post, the Higher Chance of Getting Discovered
We’ve already discussed the search algorithm, but have you ever noticed that YouTube suggests similar content to yours while on YouTube? This is because YouTube figures that if you like a certain topic, likely content similar to it is relevant to you. This can be a great way for you to attract like-minded content creators, but also people that you can network with.
Be sure to use the comment section to interact with anyone that reaches out or comments on your video. You never know who is watching, and where that relationship could go.
4. Regular Posting Can Help Establish a Consistent Brand Image
Creating consistent branding is important when it comes to YouTube. Many people are looking for YouTube videos on many different topics, to solve problems, to decide on buying a product, or in search of entertainment. How many times should you post to YouTube a month is likely influenced by how active you are engaging your community.
But, if you want your business to stand out, you need consistency in how it’s presented across all platforms including YouTube. That means using similar colors, a logo, and even presentation style.
If you’re not sure what kind of videos your audience likes best, then why not try the same videos in different formats?
5. It’s easy to get started, just click that red record button!
YouTube is free! So, what are you waiting for?
The only real investment required on your part is time. You can create a video in under ten minutes and upload it to YouTube from right inside the YouTube app. Just hit record and get going!
BONUS Tip: Have you tried batch recording?
I highly recommend batch recording your videos. Batch Recording is when you record a bunch of videos at once instead of one by one.
When I was first starting out, I had no idea how much extra time this saved until I started doing it! Set everything up for your shoot and try to use the same space if possible to minimize setting up different. If you’re afraid people will notice the video was all shot on the same day (psst…no one cares), change your shirt or something in the background between shoots.
Or build content that can be broken up into different videos.
Simply do it all at once. On the day I discovered this feature on YouTube, life got way more breezy.
How many times should you post to YouTube a Month?
There isn’t a magic number, but consistency will give you the benefits of regularly engaging your audience, keeping your videos relevant, and actively indexed by Google.
It will help your channel grow and reach more people if you post regularly. It’s important that you don’t just sporadically upload videos when the mood strikes. You need to commit yourself in advance by recording a set number of videos each month so that time spent editing doesn’t cut into your production process too much. This can take some pressure off if there are many ideas floating around but not enough time to execute all at once. Batch recording also helps with consistency which leads me back to my point about growth.
